Award for dedicated carer

A worker at Denham Manor Nursing home has been rewarded for his dedication to his job.
Barry Pentelow, who works at the home in Halings Lane, received the Unsung Hero award from Caring Homes, who run the site in Denham, at their national awards ceremony.

Mr Pentelow, who works as an activities co-ordinator, joined Denham Manor in 2006.
He said: "I have gained a real sense of satisfaction from my role here. With new ideas and enthusiasm I can make a genuine difference to the lives of all our residents. It gives me enormous peasure to see everyone enjoying themselves and fulfilling their lives. It makes every day a joy."
The awards ceremony, which took place at a hotel in Essex, was time that the efforts of staff had been recognised.
Emma Charlton, group marketing director, said: "It was a tremendous evening with wonderful entertainment, and I hope that this will be a permanent and annual event in the Caring Homes calendar."
