Gearing up for the marathon
A worker at the National Society for Epilepsy has swapped running the site for running the streets in order to train for next year's London Marathon.
Andrew Anderson, manager of the NSE's Greene House in Chehsam Lane, Chalfont St Peter, has decided to fulfill a lifetime's ambition by running the 26 mile race due to take place in April next year in order to raise funds for the NSE.
Mr Anderson, 38, said: "It was a now or never decision and I decided to go for it. I've always run for pleasure but training for a marathon is completely different. I've been sent a training pack and I'm on target and running three mornings a week and on Sundays. I'm determined to do well and raise as much as I can for the NSE."
Since beginning training by pounding the pavements of Chalfont St Peter, Mr Anderson has already lost half a stone.
He added: "I work with people who have epilepsy, so I am very committed to the cause. Epilepsy is the most common serious neurological condition in the UK and possibly the world. I just wanted to do my bit to help."
