More Chalfont St Peter arson attacks

Chalfont St Peter has been the victim of another arson attack - the third such incident in the space of three weeks.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a Ford Escort was set on fire in Chipstead in yet another act of vandalism.

It comes just weeks after the shocking incident in which two residents of the Vale were awoken in the middle of the night to find their £18,500 caravan in their front garden had been set alight by yobs and completely destroyed.
On the same night as that incident, two motorbikes were stolen and set on fire in the memorial gardens of St Peter's church, prompting residents to write to the chief constable of Thames Valley Police to demand that more action was taken.
However, at around 3.20 am on Sunday morning, a car parked in Chipstead was set on fire by vandals, following some car break-ins along the road last month.
One resident of the road, who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals, said: "I think what has been happening in this village is terrible. It was only a few weeks ago that there was the terrible incident with the caravan and now this has happened. It is really frightening to see what is going on.
"I know that it is difficult to police this type of thing because it happens so late at night, but something has to be done because it really is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or worse. This is more than a nuisance; it is terrifying."
Fire fighters from Gerrards Cross extinguished the fire and made the scene safe, but people who live in the road are convinced that the incident will soon be repeated.
The resident added: "I am sure that this will get worse before it gets better. The people responsible seem to be operating very late at night in quiet areas so it will be very difficult for anyone to catch them in the act."

We'd like to hear from you.
