New pitch at the Evreham Centre
A new state of the art all weather football pitch has been built at the Evreham Centre in order to encourage more people to get into sport.
The new surface has been designed to replicate grass in colour, feel and performance, allowing players to play football on a grass-like surface, without having to worry about waterlogged pitches or cancelled matches.
The pitch will be officially opened on November 15 and the centre in Swallow Street, Iver, is organising a fun day in order to celebrate the event.
Shorne Tilbey, portfolio holder for the community at South Bucks District Council, said: "The new surface will be a great asset for the South Bucks community, and we hope to see it used by residents of all ages and abilities. It is really exciting to have such a top-quality playing surface available in the area and we encourage all footballers to make use of this superb facility."
On Saturday, November 15, there will be a free coaching session for children aged between five and 11 by Wycombe Wanderers, followed by a five a side tournament for adults on the new pitch.
Registration for the tournament ends on November 10 and can be done by calling the centre on 01753 672610.
