Cheryl Gillan visits NSE
Cheryl Gillan paid a visit to the National Society for Epilepsy (NSE) last week to see fundraisers there receive awards.
Mrs Gillan, MP for Chesham and Amersham, attended the event on Friday, and spoke of the importance of fund raising in the current economic climate.
She said: "Everyone of you is to be congratulated for helping to support the NSE. We are in a deep recession that is going to get deeper. What is important is to keep money flowing to the NSE to make sure this work continues. Every penny that comes in over the next 12 months will be doubly important in this uncertain economic climate."
Eight people were awarded for their work for the centre, including Sydney Green of Gerrards Cross who lived at the NSE for more than 20 years and now raises money for the charity.
There was also an award for Keith Flood of GE Healthcare who is set to walk to make an expedition to the North Pole next year for the NSE.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos
