My Town: Jim Graham

CSP-My-Town-Joiner.jpgJim Graham, of Joiners Lane, Chalfont St Peter, has lived in the village for the past 41 years, having previously lived in Dunfermline. He talked to us about life in the village.

How has the village changed since you have been here?
The main changes have been the shops. When I came here there was a petrol station where Budgens is now and there was also a cinema at the top of the village where the leisure centre now is. There were a lot less charity shops as well. It seems as if the village is packed with them today.

What do you like about living here?
I like the fact that Chalfont St Peter combines a village atmosphere with being quite close to London. There is a warmth and friendliness to the community, which makes it a really nice place to be. I love living here.

What would you change about the village if you could?
I don't think I would change anything. It is great just as it is and I would not like it to change at all.

How do you think it compares to other villages in the area?
Other places nearby are more like traditional villages than this one. I think Seer Green is a good example of that. Chalfont St Peter is more like a small town than a village, because there are so many shops and amenities here.

We'd like to hear from you.
