NSE mourns death of David Cameron's son
The National Society for Epilepsy in Chalfont St Peter has spoken of its sadness at the tragic death of its vice president David Cameron's son.
Ivan Cameron, six, who had suffered from epilepsy and cerebral palsy, died in the early hours of this morning after being taken ill over night.
Mr Cameron, leader of the Conservative Party, became a vice president of the NSE soon after his son was born, and has hosted events in the past to raise awareness about the charities work.
NSE Chief Executive Graham Faulkner said: "This is very sad news. Our thoughts are with the Cameron family."
Ivan suffered from Ohtahara syndrome, a very rare form of epilepsy which can result in sufferers having as many 100 seizures a day.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown led the tributes, saying: "We have sent our condolences to David and Samantha. The death of a child is a loss no parent should have to bear."
