Denham youth club set for re-launch

A youth club in Denham is set to have re-launch to encourage a new group of youngsters to join up.
The Zone group is sending out a use it or lose it message to Denham teenagers who are stuck for ways to spend their evenings.
The group started in 2005 following a long history of graffiti and other vandalism at the area surrounding Denham Cricket Club in Cheapside Lane, due to the apparent boredom of youths in the village.

Bill Nicholas, chairman of the cricket club, started opening up the pavilion once a week as an informal youth club, and eventually secured financial support from the parish council to run it properly.
It eventually attracted between around 70 regular youngsters, but Mr Nicholas has now decided to relaunch the group to attract a new crowd.
He said: "Most of the original group who started coming here in 2005 are now 19-years-old or more and we have found that numbers have dwindled. We need to attract a whole new group of younger members if the youth club is to continue."
The new club is set to relaunch at the cricket club on Monday, April 20, between 7 and 9pm and is free for the first session, with the following evenings costing £1.
