Increase in Denham car break-ins
Motorists in Denham are being warned to be extra vigilant after a spate of thefts from cars since the start of February.
Thames Valley Police have seen 12 incidents of cars being broken into in Village Road since the beginning of last month and are concerned about the rise.
Lucy Groves, crime reduction adviser for south Bucks local policing area, said: "We have seen 12 offences since 1 February, which is worrying. Laptops are a target of choice and our advice is not to leave a laptop in your car at all.
"Hiding it in the boot will not help as thieves may observe you putting it there. Take it with you and look after it."
"If you cannot park in a well-lit area, then make sure you park somewhere where a lot of people are coming and going.
"You should never leave valuables - laptops, sat navs, tools or cash - in your car, but leaving anything visible is even worse. Even an old coat or bag on the back seat can lead to your window being smashed."
