Police warning as days get longer

Posted by Greg Burns on Mar 18, 09 10:43 AM in People

Police are warning residents to be more vigilant now that the days are getting longer and gangs of youths are hanging around the streets until later at night.
There are also concerns that gangs in Chalfont St Peter and St Giles have joined together in recent months and are now loitering in areas between the two villages.
Although there have been no major crimes in the last few weeks, police believe that people should be aware that gangs are going to be on the streets much later at night over the next few months as the evenings get later and warmer.

PCSO Isabel Brennan said: "We have noticed recently that some of these have got larger and that they are hanging around in between the two villages. We have got our eye on them and are monitoring their behaviour.
"We have not had too much trouble with them lately but some of them are on Acceptable Behaviour Contracts and it is important that people are aware of that.
"If they are found to be in breach of those contracts then they could find themselves in a lot of trouble. People should report them to us if they feel in any way threatened or bothered by their behaviour.
"If they repeatedly offend and we find that they are residents of Paradigm Housing then we can even try and get them evicted from their homes, but obviously that is a last resort.
"We know exactly who these youths are and we are keeping close tabs on them to ensure that they are not making people's lives a misery."
If you see any bad behaviour, police are encouraging you to contact them by calling them on 0845 8 505 505.

We'd like to hear from you.

Mark my words, if I or any of my neighbours encounter ANY nonsense from this lot this year, as we did last year, we certainly WON'T be calling some woolly PCSO to come and deal with them. I and a few others will deal with them ourselves, and you will be shoveling the scum up in body-bags the following morning.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Thank you for this kind insight and the insults. We always suggest that residents do not confront the youths as this may aggrevate the situation.
A PCSO or PC is always available within 20 minutes of a Crime in progress. Report crime when you see it, if you don't, we dont know its happened. If you require any more information i shall send you some.

many regards.

If you find the term "Woolly" an insult, might I suggest that you are not fit for the job that you attempt to do, and perhaps take up flower arranging?

Part of the reason that the Police country-wide have become so alienated by the law abiding is because of crass stupid comments like the ones you have made above. The Public would have a bit more sympathy for the Police if they got off their @rses when called out, instead of a) taking an eternity to turn up (3 days on my last call!) and b) lock them up and put them before the courts the next day, instead of 'bailing' them to re-offend day in day out!

People don't bother to report crime anymore, because they end up speaking to "Wooly" dis-interested Civilian's like yourself, who are only worried about "aggravating the youths"!! Pull your fingers out and get patrolling - that would be a start!

Instead of providing warnings that "gangs of thugs" will be out and about later in the summer months try actually breaking them up, you know where they hang out and more than likely who they are.
And the 20 min call out??? Any trouble they cause will be done and finished in 2 mins

My sentiments ENTIRELY!! (echoed above)

Mustn't upset the hoodies now, must we? They have Yuman Rites after all innit!

Taken from today's Thames Valley Police Website...you couldn't MAKE this up if you tried!

“Whilst out on bike patrol, at approximately 7.15pm, we heard about an incident in Brookers Hill in Shinfield and offered to attend. A member of the public had reported youths on the Old University Building roof throwing tiles at each other.
Myself and PCSO Beales cycled all the way over to Shinfield but the youths made off on foot when we arrived. However, not wanting to give up we gave chase on our bikes and were able to catch up with them. We took names and addresses and gave strong words of advice.

So there you have it folks...."strong words of advice"....well, we can all sleep soundly in our beds tonight can't we? Knowing that the FULL powers of a PCSO are making all the difference...

I have never read so much cr@p in all my life....my original comments of March 19th and 30th still stand!
