Chamber of Commerce president re-elected

THE president of Chalfont St Peter's chamber of commerce organisation has been re-elected to the position.
Michael Day will enjoy a second stint in the role after other members of the chamber voted for him to carry on at their annual general meeting on April 8 at the village's community centre.

Mr Day took over as president last year from Liz Royal, and said that he was delighted to be given the opportunity to carry on the work he has done in his time in the role.
He said: "Over the past 12 to 18 months, we have seen considerable progress and I am proud of the way that the chamber has helped successfully get a return to an hour's free car parking in the village.
"Other things that stand out are the window dressing competition in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness, the organisation of the Christmas fun night and the Christmas tree on Gold Hill Common.
"This year we are involved in helping deliver the Feast Day celebrations in June, which will be a huge village event.
"One of my aims this year, particularly given the current challenging economic climate, is to encourage customers to buy their goods and services locally. As a chamber we are totally reliant on volunteers and on subscriptions for our funds. I would therefore very much like to see many more local business people getting involved both by joining the chamber and through participating on committees and projects."

We'd like to hear from you.
