KERAN Henderson, the Iver Heath childminder who was jailed after shaking to death a baby left in her care, has been released from prison.
Mrs Henderson was jailed in November 2007 after a jury found her guilty of the manslaughter of 11-month-old Maeve Sheppard.

A Chalfont St Peter School which dates back to the Victorian era could re-locate to the site of a former convent school in order to make way for new housing.
Chalfont St Peter C of E School, which is currently based in Penn Road, wants to move to the site of the former Holy Cross School, which closed its doors in 2006.

DRIVERS in Chalfont St Peter are concerned that a roundabout on a busy stretch of road has become so overgrown that they cannot see when pulling out.
The roundabout and verges on the A413 at the bottom of Kingsway leading into the village have become filled with long grass and other greenery which is obstructing the views of drivers pulling out onto the busy road.

A CHALFONT St Peter mum is hoping to draw attention to the plight of babies across the country who suffer from heart problems.
Kim Turner, who lives in Lovel Road, is mother to 10-month-old Faith, who suffers from the rare Tetralogy of Fallot illness, a condition which affects just one in 100,000 people.

Chalfont St Peter's Feast Day is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best events in the village's history, according to organisers.
The historic event, which was cancelled for the first time in years in 2008 due to a lack of volunteers, is set to come back in a big way this summer.

Art exhibition held for NSE

A GERRARDS Cross law firm is holding an art exhibition in order to raise money for charity.
BP Collins, who are based in Station Road, are holding an art show at their offices with all the proceeds going to the National Society for Epilepsy (NSE) in Chalfont St Peter.
The exhibition features artwork from people who suffer from epilepsy or who have personal experiences of the illness.

PARENTS are becoming increasingly concerned that their children are missing out on their first choice grammar schools thanks to pupils from outside the catchment area taking their places.
A growing number of parents have become angry after seeing children from places such as Hillingdon and Uxbridge being allowed to attend schools such as Dr Challoner's Grammar and Chesham High.

Gillan taken to task over expenses

CHERYL Gillan, MP for the Chalfonts, Chesham and Amersham, has been blasted by her constituents this week after it was revealed that she claimed for three tins of dog food on her expenses.
Mrs Gillan, who is the shadow Welsh secretary, was found to have submitted a Sainsbury's receipt for £27.25 for groceries which included £4.47 worth of pet food.

OVER the next few weeks, residents across the area are set to go to the polls to vote in the County Council and European elections.
The candidates have all been announced, and during the coming weeks, we will be profiling all them.

CHALFONT St Peter is set to rock over the Bank Holiday weekend when a pub holds its second battle of the bands competition.
The Village Hall in Gold Hill West is hosting the event, which this year promises to be bigger and better than last year's inaugural festival.

A POPULAR summer children's activity is set to make a comeback in Chalfont St Peter this summer.
The Timebreakers week has run in the village for a number of years but this year it will take place on Gold Hill Common where it has not been held since 2004.
The event, which is run jointly between churches in Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross, is expected to attract around 800 children and their families throughout the week.
This year's event will run from Sunday, August 23 until August 30 and will feature a week of activities such as games, drama, music, songs and challenges all with a biblical theme.
Entrance to the event is completely free but registration forms need to be filled out before children can take part.

PEOPLE across the area are being encouraged to compost in order to save tonnes of household waste.
Buckinghamshire County Council is this week holding a Recycle Now campaign, which will see people being asked to compost all household and garden waste at home in order to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill sites each year.

POLICE are appealing to the public for help in finding a car as part of their investigation into the death of Jim Fleming last month.
On the morning of April 1 between 5.30am and 6.30am, Jim Fleming was cycling along the A413 when he was hit by a vehicle which failed to stop.
