Feast Day a huge success

THE RE-INSTATED Chalfont St Peter Feast Day was a huge success at the weekend with thousands of villagers flocking to the event.
The fun lasted throughout the day on Saturday and ended with an Abba tribute act in the evening.

Throughout the day, there were performances by a selection of bands and displays by village schools and drama groups.
It is estimated that around 6,000 people were present throughout the day, accounting for around half the population of the village.
The event was cancelled last year due to a lack of people being able to organise it, so this year organisers, including the chamber of commerce, parish council and parish church, pulled out all the stops to ensure that the feast day was the best in recent memory.
Michael Day, who helped organise the event, said: "I was extremely pleased with how everything turned out. The weather was glorious apart from the thunder storm which delayed the evening entertainment but I was delighted with the turn out. We have already started planning for next year's event and we are hoping to make it even better."

We'd like to hear from you.

What a fantastic day and great entertainment in the evening. The organising committee and all those involved should be very proud of themselves - it will be a hard act to follow next year but I'm sure they'll do it. Many, many thanks for putting all that effort into the day - the whole village loved it!

Wonderful day and superbly organised. There was quite a bit of mess left over at the end but it was all cleared up by about 8am the next day. Well done. You've set the bar pretty high for next year though.

What a great success Feast Day was. There was such a fantastic atmosphere and it was wonderful to see the whole village coming together to support such a celebration. Well done to all those involved. What a shame the Bucks Advertiser wasn't prepared to publish more about it before and after the event.

Fantastic success! Disappointed that Bucks Advertiser couldn't publish more pics. It would be wonderful if the village got together and re introduced the floats again! I was lucky enough to be one of the feast Day Queen's attendants in the 60's, along with Pauline Dainton, nee: Hughes. The Queen I remember came from Hayes - not a local girl, but she was the girlfriend of local footballer hero at time!
