Gillan under fire again after expenses black out
CHERYL Gillan has again come under fire in the expenses row, this time for her heavily blanked out accounts.
Last month Mrs Gillan, MP for Chesham and Amersham, was criticised after it was revealed that she had charged the taxpayer for dog food.
She maintained that it had been a genuine mistake and promised to pay back the money immediately.
However, last week the full details of MPs' expenses were made public, but Mrs Gillan's are heavily obscured.
MPs across the country have been criticised for this, with voters claiming that it makes a mockery of the point of making the claims public.
Mrs Gillan's expenses show her claiming for three seperate phone bills as well as electricity and large travel costs.
James Sharpe of Chalfont St Peter said: "I can understand why certain things are blanked out for security purposes, but the trouble is if too much is obscured it makes it look as if they are hiding something.
"I like Cheryl Gillan and I think that she has done a good job for this area, but it is a bit disappointing to see so much of her accounts blanked out.
"Her travel costs are huge as well, much larger than you would have expected."
