St Peter cricketer faces Ashes star

A FORMER Chalfont St Peter parish councillor found himself facing a spell of bowling by an England Ashes star.
Neal Collins, 48, enjoyed a net session with England all-rounder Paul Collingwood on Tuesday last week, less than 24 hours after the epic win against Australia at Lord's.
The session was held to publicise Collingwood's Ashes blog, and Mr Collins, a sports journalist was invited along to take part.

Mr Collins, who currently plays cricket for Chalfont St Peter, but who has also represented Denham, Chalfont St Giles and Gerrards Cross, said: "I beat Paul's bat once but when he bowled at me it was incredible. He looks like a medium pacer on television but he's faster than anybody locally when he gets fired up."
Afterwards Collingwood posed for a picture with Mr Collins's sons Charlie, 12, and Harry, 14.
His Ashes blog can be read at www.yahoo.com/cricket.
