RESIDENTS of a road in Chalfont St Peter have told of their shock after a man who ran through their gardens was arrested by police in front of their homes.
On Thursday evening last week at around 7.30pm, people living in Pinetree Close were surprised to see a police car parked in the street and officers stood by it.

A police helicopter was also seen circling the area overhead, and the police car was soon joined by another vehicle.
One resident, who asked not to be named, said: "I kept watching the police at the front of the house to see what was going on, but I couldn't really tell what they were doing.
"Eventually I went outside the back of our house and I could see a man stood in next door's back garden looking for a way out.
"After that, I went back into my house and the next time I looked outside there were police officers in our back garden.
"I didn't see them catch the man, but shortly after that I saw that they had him in the road, pinned to the floor. He was shouting at them and they were shouting back but I couldn't really hear what was being said.
"They kept him on the ground on his chest with his hands behind his back for quite a while until a van came. They then bundled him into the back of it and took him away.
"I have lived in this road for quite a few years and I have never known anything like this before. We have seen the police helicopter a few times but have never seen them chase anyone through here."
Chalfont St Peter police confirmed that a young man had been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage in the Lovel Road area the same evening.

We'd like to hear from you.
