Speeding crackdown in Chalfont St Peter

RESIDENTS in Chalfont St Peter are becoming increasingly concerned about the speed at which cars travel along residential roads.
The village's Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) has identified the issue as one of the main problems in the village and are hoping to deal with it over the next few months.

They are currently working with police and the parish council to tackle the problem, which they say has got worse in recent months.
Mark Tosh, head of the NAG, said: "A lot of residents have told us that they are very worreid about the speeds that cars travel around the village.
"It is not on the main roads where the problems seem to be, but in smaller residential areas where there are lots of houses and parked cars.
"I have heard reports of cars far exceeding the 30mph speed limit in these areas, and this is obviously something that we are hoping to address.
"There are many dangers in driving too fast in these types of areas, as there are often children and other vehicles in the road, so we need this to stop now.
"We have spoken to the police about the incidents as well as the parish council and hopefully we can now work together to put a stop to this problem."
Mr Tosh is also encouraging people to come forward and tell the NAG any concerns they have about life in the village, so that the message can be quickly passed onto the police.
He said: "Obviously, there is a limit to what we as a group can do because we are just volunteers, but we do have regular contact with the police and the parish council, and they take one board what we have told them.
"It is a very good way of getting the views of villagers over to the police and making sure that something is done as quickly as possible."
