A GROUP of friends from Chalfont St Peter is hoping to inspire people to get together to reduce the effects of climate change by screening an award winning film.
The group, Change4Chalfont, is sponsoring the screening of The Age of Stupid at the Chalfonts Community College.

The group has also invited Leo Murray, the film's media producer and lead animator, to speak on the night and take part in a question and answer session after the screening.
Billed as a must see film that highlights the growing impact of global warming on the plant, The Age of Stupid looks back to the beginning of the 21st century from the year 2055 and considers the decisions that have been made, and how the future could have been different if different action was taken.
The film stars Pete Postlethwaite and has generated a huge reception internationally with premieres on all continents.
Erica Neustadt, one of the group's founders, said: "We were so impressed by the film, we wanted people in Chalfont St Peter to see it.
"What particularly inspired us was a talk afterwards by Leo Murray, which highlighted the role of people power in counteracting or reducing the effects of climate change.
"This is very different from the usual rhetoric, which leaves you feeling disempowered and not knowing how your efforts could have an impact."
Ms Neustadt and her friends hope to raise awareness through the film among residents, who they hope to help them with their next project - turning Chalfont St Peter into a transition town.
This is a scheme under which communities take decisions and steps to deal with the issues both of dependency on fossil fuels and global warming at a local level.
The film is being screened on November 17 at 7.30pm and is completely free of charge.
