GIRL Guides from Chalfont St Peter are appealing to the kind-hearted to save their hut from ruin.

The future of the group, which is based at Lansdowne Road, is uncertain after repairs to the hut's weather-worn roof were priced at £8,000.

The Rotary Club of Gerrards Cross and Chalfont St Peter are the first to offer assistance, with a cheque for £1,000.

YOUNGSTERS in Chalfont St Peter were given a treat, when television star Bear Grylls dropped in at a scout camp in the village.
Mr Grylls, who is the current Chief Scout, paid a visit to Chalfont Heights Scout Camp in Denham Lane on the weekend of October 2 and 3.

CAMPAIGNERS against a proposed high-speed rail line are going to march through the countryside it is set to devastate.
A protest walk against High Speed 2 (HS2) through the Chilterns is set to take place along its proposed route through the Misbourne Valley.
Walkers, who take part in the eight-mile route from Amersham train station to Great Missenden station on September 11, are being asked to raise sponsorship for organisers The Chiltern Society's dedicated anti-HS2 fund.
